Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins is a Mexican American Sportscaster. She currently works as a sportscaster for ESPN, working as anchor of SportsCenter news and hosting SportsNation. She began her career at ESPN in 2016. Her mother is the reporter for television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is bilingual since when she was nine years old. Her abilities were crucial in helping her land her first post as a producer assistant at Univision Miami, where she worked with the producers of programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. It was the CBS station in St. Petersburg hired her in the following year as a sports reporter. She was a reporter at KNVO TV 48 Univision in Rio Grande Valley Texas. Covering stories relating to the trafficking of drugs and immigrants along the Texas as well as the Mexico border, she worked as a news reporter for Fox2 News, which is a Spanish channel KNVO TV48 Univision and Fox2 News. The anchor also acted as a fill-in anchors for sports and weather. Then she became the anchor and reporter of Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. She was then given larger responsibilities. She covered The Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys as well as the NBA Postseason and the finals of FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. Also, she produced Univision 23's local sports show Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she served as anchor. She became a sports host for the morning show on Despierta America Deportes. Antonietta's parents were originally origins from Veracruz Mexico. They eventually moved to Mexico City where she was born on the 22nd of November in 1985. She also has a sister. The family moved in 1992 to Mexico in search of the US and relocated to Miami. Her parents divorced shortly after and in 1995, she got married to a naval designer named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away in 2006 from kidney cancer. In the summer of 2006, she went to spend one week with her sibling at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working there. Antonietta, a high-school senior with a plan of what she wanted her life to look like, came to Mount Union University to see what she could get out of the college. She loved the campus. It also gave her the program she was interested in. When she finished her high-school studies, she entered the University to pursue media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor as well as the director of WRMU, of which she is a member. They had a very close relationship. Professor Mark Bergmann influenced her by his passion in journalism. Additionally, he profoundly influenced her.
